Introduction:
This programme is designed for adults returning to education after a career break, or as a progression route to a foundation or honours degree. It is suitable for people who use IT as part of their job, but who have no formal IT qualification. As the programme is franchised from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) you will enrol at both Preston College and UCLan, and have access to both Preston College and UCLan`s facilities, including UCLan`s library and student union.
The module on this programme is studied via distance learning, with all study materials available online. Tutorial sessions will be held at Preston College`s Fulwood Campus for thosse wishing to access tutor support.

The programme will develop your skills so that you will be better equipped to use IT in the workplace or home. Once you have completed this University Certificate, you may wish to continue your studies to achieve an Advanced University Certificate in ICT. Alternatively the module is part of a Foundation Degree in ICT and you may wish to use this module to gain credit towards this qualification or study a number of the modules part-time.
