The placement year gave me the chance to develop a wide range of skills, including team work. I was working with new systems and producing reports for senior management. So, definitely these skills are invaluable in the graduate job market.

The counselling module totally impressed me. I thought it was just going to be like a normal textbook lecture but the professor had a lot of fieldwork experience. I could see that the University was trying to give us really practical knowledge since the beginning.

This is a career not only based in excavations but a variety of lab based courses. Students have the flexibility to explore many different areas within archaeology and I chose this course because it combines both scientific and non-scientific modules.

The clinical knowledge and problem solving skills are developed from much earlier in the course, leading to graduates ready to apply these skills in their placement. This is a huge advantage to the students.
