History

Before the University of Bristol, there was University College, BristolUniversity College, Bristol existed from 1876 to 1909 and was the precursor to the University of Bristol.Its history can be traced back to the efforts of John Percival, headmaster of Clifton College, to press for the establishment of such an institution. In 1872, Percival wrote to the Oxford colleges observing that the provinces lacked a university culture. The following year he produced a pamphlet called 'The Connection of the Universities and the Great Towns', which was well received by Benjamin Jowett, Master of Balliol College, Oxford. Jowett was to become a significant figure, both philosophically and financially, in the establishment of University College, Bristol.In June 1874, a meeting took place at Bristol's Victoria Rooms 'to promote a School of Science and Literature for the West of England'. ...

What I would highlight: They ask from every chapter 1 question. And you have to answer 5 questions. So you actually have to learn only half of the book. Great way to make some learn!

What I would highlight: The sport infrastructure is huge. You can follow classes for almost every sport you have in mind. Beside this, the location of the university is very good, right in the middle of the center of Glasgow.

What I would highlight: Knowledgeable staff, friendly, interesting module optionsStudying media means a constantly evolving course, and staff are enthusiastic and eager about keeping up with the changing landscape of media in the 21st century. There are a wide variety of modules, so you gain a broad knowledge of many parts of the media.

What I would highlight: Only nightlife might be cheaper (going to the movies, drinking,...)in shops it was impossible to pay with my bank card, they do not have a system like ours where you can pay with mastercard or something.
