Course programme

Pharmacology is an aspect of management in almost every patient within the Podiatry caseload. The majority of patients will be taking some kind of drug therapy, from simple non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, to complex immune-suppressants, from insulin analogues to cancer therapies. Whilst Podiatrists are not clinical pharmacologists, it is good practice to have a basic understanding of how drugs work. This module is designed to help you gain a good basic understanding of drug action, and investigates the action and side-effects of the more commonly-encountered drug groups.
