About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. Three GCSEs in English, maths and a science based subject at grade 3 (D) or above is required. A suitable level 1 qualification or substantial body repair experience is desirable but not essential.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Year 1
Leicester College has a very well equipped modern vehicle body repair workshop, it offers advanced tools, equipment and repair techniques that enable learners gain a wide range of skills essential for the workplace.
The learning programme involves learners studying both the theory and practical aspects, including removing and fitting permanent and non-permanent fixed body panels and components, Carrying out repairs to body panels using specialist equipment, Resistance spot welding, MAGS welding and brazing techniques, and repairing plastic components. Learners also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
