About this course
By the end of your apprenticeship you will have achieved:
Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence; Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles; Functional Skill in Maths Level 1 (if required); Functional Skill in English Level 1 (if required); Functional Skill in ICT Level 1 (if required); Employee Rights and Responsibilities; Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.
JOBS:
On completion of this Intermediate Apprenticeship, apprentices will be competent to work as a Light Vehicle Service Technician;
Following further training and development, apprentices can progress to a range of jobs such as Leve l2 and Level 3 as a Light Vehicle Diagnostic Technician, Service Adviser, Service Receptionist or Maintenance Controller.
English Language GCSE Grade D or Functional Skill Level 1; Maths GCSE Grade D or Functional Skill Level 1; ICT GCSE Grade D or Functional Skill Level 1; Working in a role such as Light Vehicle Service Technician.
The duration of this apprenticeship is generally 24 months.

- Provide opportunities for career progression within Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and into the wider Automotive Retail Industry;
- Provide a pathway to further and higher education for those who choose to do so.
You will be assessed using a range of methods such as; Computer based exam, direct observation of tasks or activities, examination of work products produced by learners (e.g. diary notes, site notes, completed reports), examination of witness testimonies from people, other than the assessor, who are prepared to provide statements detailing specific details of learners’ performance, review of records of ‘question and answer’ sessions covering specific aspects of the knowledge and understanding and Professional discussion. All of these assessment methods will build your portfolio of evidence.
