About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above is required. A suitable level 1 qualification or substantial body repair experience is desirable but not essential.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Leicester College has a very well equipped modern vehicle body repair workshop, it offers advanced tools, equipment and repair techniques that enable students to gain a wide range of skills essential for the workplace.
The programme will introduce you to both the theory and practical aspects of accident repair. This qualification consists of a combination of units from modules:
Health and Safety practices
Foundation Skills
Personal Social Development (PSD)
MET (Mechanical Electrical Trim)
Body
Refinishing
Valeting
There are 18 units that are covered over the year in both a practical and classroom environment which includes, safe working practices, forming and joining, materials, main vehicle components, vehicle construction, valeting, basic body repairs, basic paint spraying.
Other topics that are compulsory to the course include; PPD (Personal Professional Development), functional skills or GCSE in maths and/or English.
