The vet takes care of the animals. It can be generic or specialized in a discipline, for conventional animals (dog and cat) or for exotic (all animals other than dogs and cats). At one time, the veterinarian mainly dealt with farm animals raised in the traditional way. Today he takes care of all types of animals, ranging from their diet, to their reproduction, to their health. The veterinarian must have a good general knowledge of the animal species, of the problems concerning their health, their feeding, also in relation to the breeding needs. He must also be an expert in the techniques and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The veterinarian operates in the same way among the public sector (e.g. for the state, for the regions and for zoo-prophylactic institutes) and private individuals, as a freelance professional (for example in breeding, zootechnical industries, chemical and pharmaceutical companies, but also in the processing and conservation industries of products of animal origin). Access to the public sector of the veterinarian is regulated by competitions and is also subject to any specializations. To become a veterinarian, you need a degree in Veterinary Medicine (single-cycle master's degree). After graduating in Veterinary Medicine, in order to practice the profession, it is necessary to pass the state examination for professional qualification and enroll in the Register of the Order of Veterinarians. They can be very important for the professional integration not only of refresher courses,
