The aim of the HND Veterinary Nursing course is to provide a vocational programme based on the skills and knowledge the industry requires. Our full time, two year programme has been developed in conjunction with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
This course blends academic study and clinical placement with an approved veterinary practice and allows registration as a qualified Veterinary Nurse once you've successfully completed it. You'll learn the competencies you need to undertake practical patient care and theatre duties, and regular clinical skills labs will prepare you for practical examinations. Once you've successfully completed the general or Honours degree, including the required clinical placement within practice, you'll be able to register as a Veterinary Nurse and begin to practice. Registration is awarded at the graduation ceremony by an RCVS representative.
