Course programme
Afternoon tea is a Victorian invention and should be taken at 4pm precisely.
Vintage 1950s is all the rage and so on trend for summer 2012 with the Queen's diamond Jubilee celebrations. This workshop will take you back in time and help you recreate a classic afternoon tea including cupcakes, scones with homemade jam and butter (yes, you're going to make jam and butter, albeit a cheat's version of jam and proper butter). Viennese finger biscuits, classic custard creams and bourbon biscuits and some other tea time treats too. You'll learn how to decorate the cupcakes and we'll be using fresh natural ingredients to flavour and colour them too.
The workshop will be taken by celebrity cook and author Beverley Glock who will fill the day with heaps of tips and ideas on how to flavour and disply your vintage tea party favourites.
