About this course

There are no formal entry requirements. However, students will be expected to be confident with English and maths at level 2. There will be an opportunity to brush up skills during the course.



You need to complete a written application form, and if successful will be invited to an informal interview and assessment.

Course programme

Year 1

You will learn strategies to support students with their English and maths skills, as well as exploring listening and communication skills, and safeguarding.

The course also includes a placement in a Skills for Life class. This starts mid way through the course and the commitment is one session a week (two hours) during term time in addition to the training sessions.

Additional information

You will take part in activities during class and complete a reflective journal which includes some longer-answer questions.
