VTCT Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up Level 2

The VTCT Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up (QCF) level 2 is a qualification that has been specifically designed to enable you to learn both aspects of hairdressing and media make-up.

The mandatory section of this qualification will provide you with all the skills and techniques to enable you to:
- provide effective client care,
- learn the art of applying make-up and photographic make-up,
- learn the creative art of dressing hair, and
- create an image using both hairdressing and media make-up skills.

The optional units for this qualification give you the opportunity to choose the most appropriate units for your desired career path:
- creative themed face painting,
- body art design,
- using temporary or semi-permanent colour.

Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge and understanding of each unit including health and safety for all services.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in both hairdressing and media make-up to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

Entry Requirements

• A level 1 hairdressing or beauty therapy qualification, and
• English and maths at level 1, or
• an initial assessment indicating that you are working at level 1 and you are able to
  achieve level 2 English and maths within one year.
• You should demonstrate knowledge of the hairdressing and beauty therapy industries and wish to take up a career as a hairdresser or make-up artist.
