What I would highlight: Hi Wallace, just to let you know - I passed my class C driving test on Monday. I wanted to tell you about my driving instructor Manny. He is a lovely guy, with a great method of teaching. He gave me all the time and the encouragement that I needed, in order to learn how to drive the truck. He is polite, calm, and intuitive as to the areas I needed more tuition in. Manny was the perfect choice of driving instructor for me. We got on great, from start to finish. I would highly recommend him to your future clients.

What I would highlight: My success was all down to my instructor Paul and I would like to make you aware of the fantastic work he does. Paul was friendly, easy going and at most he had the best sense of humour but at the same time very professional. It was clear that he had a vast driving knowledge and was able to teach me the skills I needed in relation to driving an LGV category vehicles. As well as having benefits in my day-to-day life the main reason for gaining C1 qualifications was to progress my career to becoming a paramedic in the ambulance service so for me this meant a lot. Paul has left me with a very high opinion of Wallace and since passing I have and will always recommend Wallace to several colleagues and will continue to do so. If in the future I decide to gain further entitlements on my driving license I will definitely be using Wallace. Hopefully, all those in HR recognise your hard work and effort because you truly do make the company.
What could be improved: Everything was good, no complaints.

What I would highlight: My instructor, Jamie, was absolutely brilliant. He explains everything very clearly and is great with positive reinforcement. He is always ready with praise when things are done right and never gets flustered, excited frustrated or angry when things don't go so well. He is very calm, patient, humourous, and an absolute pleasure to work with. As an experienced instructor myself, I know a great instructor when I meet one, and Jamie is first class! I'm over the moon with a comfortable first time pass, and obviously, Jamie's hard work is the reason it happened. Many thanks and kind regards.

History

Wallace School of Transport is a family run business, established in 1963 in Nottingham by the late Russell Wallace (on the 2nd row, 3rd from the left), who served in the Armed Forces Motor Corps.

Building on this wealth of knowledge and experience of driver training, he laid the foundations of the school, and in 1969 was one of the first to attend the then newly formed Road Transport Industry Training Board to become an approved instructor and school.

The HGV driving test was launched in 1969. We were one of the first schools in the country to offer lorry driver training.

The growth of the school meant that Russell needed help with bookings and administration and in 1970 he asked Dorothy, his wife, to join him. Together they ran the school until the early 80's.

From the 80's to present day the school is now ran by Russell and Dorothy's children, Ruth and Neil Wallace who are proud to continue to maintain the high standards and excellent pass rate
