The OCR Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage is primarily aimed at people who undertake varied warehousing, storage and logistics activities. The qualification is about the safe and efficient receipt, movement, storage, handling and dispatch of goods in a warehousing and logistics environment. It requires a degree of autonomy and scope to make decisions within agreed boundaries and limits.

The NVQ is related directly to your job role and helps you to reflect on your performance at work and review your working practices. It provides a personal development opportunity and enhances efficiency within your organisation. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 25 credits, through completion of the mandatory units and a selection of optional units (depending on credit values and rules of combination). Your Assessor will guide you on the selection of appropriate units. Mandatory Units Health, Safety and Security at Work Develop Productive Working Relationships with Colleagues in Logistics Operations Optional Units The optional units cover a wide variety of skills within a warehouse environment including pick, wrap and pack goods, place goods in storage, process orders for customers, assemble orders for dispatch, maintain the cleanliness of equipment, keep work areas clean, maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods, moving and/or handling goods, use equipment to move goods, use a forklift side-loader, use an industrial forklift truck, use a hoist, use a compact crane, keep stock at required, check stock levels and stock records, operate equipment to perform work requirements, receive goods, maintain the safety and security of hazardous goods and materials, process returned goods, sort goods and materials for recycling or disposal, supervise the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods, contribute to the provision of customer service, principles of Food Safety in Logistics. Your Assessor will help you to identify the most appropriate units for your individual role.
