Introduction:
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 requires that anyone who installs:

  • or alters plumbing systems has a legal duty to comply with the regulations
  • new (and, in non-domestic, alters or extends) systems shall give notice of the intended work to the water supplier


Study Mode & Location:
This is a one day course running at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent's Road, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
The course covers the contents of the Water Supply (Water Fitting) Regulations and their role in preventing waste and unnecessary consumption, contamination, correct water measurement and knowledge of how to comply in practice and advice on existing water systems where non-compliance with regulations or risk is involved.

Assessment:
1.5 hours examination

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of the course will enable the student to apply to an Approved Plumber Scheme, as long as the student is already in possession of a recognised plumbing certificate.

You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
