3. Entry requirements For Beginners, Improvers and anyone who needs to chill out doing something completely different from their everyday work. From those with little or no experience of watercolour painting to those who have who have practiced but need a refresher and inspiration to get motivated again.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required For your first session please bring in watercolour paper, a pencil, a brush and paint.Suggested basic equipment:Paper: Watercolour paper - Bockingford 140lb. (300 gsm) or similar.Brushes: Synthetic or synthetic/hair mixtures, Round: 2, 6 and 8 or larger. Flat: ¾ or 1"Paints: Student watercolours in tubes or pans; (Artist's Colours if you can afford them). Most are usually contained in a beginner's set or can be bought separately.Red: Cadmium or Vermillion Alizarin CrimsonYellow: Cadmium Yellow Lemon YellowBlue: Ultramarine Blue Cobalt BlueAdditional Colours: Raw Sienna Cerulean Blue Burnt Umber Permanent rose Chinese (zinc) whiteAdditional items: Drawing board (there are some for your use at the centre) Gummed brown paper strip 1½ of 2" Tissues and/or cotton rags Watercolour palette for mixing paint Small natural sponge F, HB, B pencils Soft eraser 5.
