Introduction:
Our Adult Continuing Education (ACE) programmes are short leisure courses. They are ideal if you want to learn new skills, pursue an interest, have fun, and find out more about a particular subject without the stress of exams.

This course provides an introduction to some of the basic skills of painting.

Study Mode & Location:
This 10 week part-time leisure course lasts for 2 hours per week and will be held at Preston College Park Campus, Moor Park Avenue, Preston, PR1 6AS.

Course Content:
After an initial assessment piece, we hope to be able to offer a number of diverse opportunities to accommodate a variety of abilities. Those who return to the course will obviously not be required to repeat beginners exercises and can expect an extension of the work they have already completed. Although we cannot promise a separate course for each individual we do respect individual needs.

Assessment:
There are no formal examinations but a variety of internal assessment methods will be used.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
This course can lead to other ACE courses, or to OCNW (Open College of the North West) A units, or to OCNW START Watercolour Painting.

Additional Costs:
Students will be required to purchase the following items:

• Brushes - size 3 (£1.10), size 12 (£2.00)
• Paint Box - (£10.50)
• Sheet of watercolour paper which will last one term is £2
• Or a book of watercolour depending on size £5 or £9

You can enrol on any of our ACE (Adult Continuing Education) courses by phone or in person. Simply phone or call into the Preston College Advice Centre. We accept SOLO and major credit cards (eg Access, Visa, Switch, Delta) EXCEPT American Express. Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible.

Money Matters
Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to study an ACE course at a reduced price. For more details, contact the Preston College Advice Centre.
