2. Course description Build fast, dynamic, database driven websites with cross browser compatibility. PHP is a server-side scripting language, used to develop entire web applications. As opposed to static HTML web pages PHP web pages can generate different content for the same web page depending on the user input. Think Google! MySQL is a powerful database used by many web applications to store and retrieve customer and product data. HTML & CSS knowledge is required.

Entry requirements You should have reasonable experience in using Microsoft Windows or an Apple Macintosh computer, with the ability to perform simple tasks using a word processing program and use the internet to view web pages and send emails. Experience in using a database, such as MS Access would be helpful. You must have knowledge of HTML as covered in the Web Design 1 course and have a good understanding of English and simple maths. 4.
