Weekend DIY Domestic Plumbing Course

Crownship has developed a weekend domestic plumbing course for those who desire to enhance their plumbing skills for those essential DIY repairs or alterations.

The domestic plumbing weekend course is also a useful introduction and foundation in plumbing for those considering moving on to City & Guilds 6129 Technical Certificate in Plumbing or City & Guilds 6089 NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.

Health & Safety Theory Overview

Crownship weekend plumbing course health and safety theory sessions are interactively linked to the practical part of the course. These sessions are kept to a minimum without compromising the standards of the course. Time will also be allocated to fault finding and servicing of hot and cold water systems, central heating systems and candidates will be able to discuss their own plumbing problems.

Subjects covered:

• Basic plumbing principles
• Hot and cold water systems
• Basic heating systems
• General plumbing fault finding

Practical Overview

On the weekend domestic plumbing course you will receive practical hands on training from our qualified and experienced plumbing tutors on the following:

• How to bend and fix copper pipework with soldered joints, apply compression and push fit joints to copper pipework
• Install various plumbing equipment including radiators, sinks, wash basins, washing machines and dishwashers
• Install waste systems that are connected to appliances - o industry standards using modern plastic pipework
• Use plastic pressure pipewrok
• Install taps and connect to the mains water supply

Previous plumbing experience is not required to attend this course.

Duration is two days; Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 2.30pm on both days.

Course Certification

Crownship certification will be issued outlining the completion of the course.
