The first step in developing welders' abilities in any process is to undertake Welder Assessment. This is a 1 day session which takes place at our Training Centre in Peterborough. The objective of the session is to assess the welder's aptitude and current skill level in the chosen process, to agree the level of certification that the client is aiming for, and thereby identify the content and duration of the required training programme.
The assessor will first of all discuss the welder's experience and personal aims in the light of the client company's objectives for that welder, so that all parties can fully understand and agree the levels that need to be attained.
The attendee will then be given practical exercises to undertake unaided so that his current abilities can be assessed and any weaknesses identified for particular attention during the training programme.
After the session, the assessor will submit an evaluation report, documenting the current skills level and a training recommendation report, outlining the content and duration of the training needed to attain the required coded status.
