Course programme

Our students have secured internships with organizations such as Women-for-Women International in Rwanda, New York Law School, and a reproductive health organization in Cape Verde, Africa.

Our graduates are prepared for careers in fields including journalism, law, international affairs and education. They have secured jobs with organizations ranging from global news organizations to the Department of Justice. Discover new perspectives and new ways to be a force for change in the world.

In addition to expanding your worldview in class, the women’s & gender studies department offers a unique experience for students to visit the State Correctional Facility at Muncy. As part of the international Inside-Out Prison Exchange program, students and incarcerated women will have the opportunity to discuss their experiences, stereotypes and how race, class and gender play a role in the prison system. By breaking barriers and stereotypes, students learn about the American justice system from a different perspective.

Each spring, the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Gender and the Department of Women's & Gender Studies co-sponsor a distinguished lecture.
