Designed as a follow on from the basic skills level this fascinating course gives you the chance to improve your hand at working with wood. With expert guidance, you are again introduced to the variety of techniques and equipment enabling you to gain and improve new skills, to produce some useful and attractive final pieces.
Learn how to use dove tail joints and then go on to make a small box or learn how to make a variety of joints. Enjoy making a selection of items as seen on www.pennyproductions.co.uk from a delightful rural workshop on the edge of the Trough of Bowland.
The course aims to cover:
- Accurate marking and measuring
- Clamping and gluing
- Nailing and drilling
- Sanding
- Use of tennon and coping saws
- Correct use of hand, bench and block planes
- Butt joints, lap joints and dovetails
Special Requirements
All tools, equipment and materials are provided and included in the cost of the course.
It is strongly advised to wear stout foot wear and non-loose clothing.
