This course is designed to introduce delegates to the principles and equipment involved in modern working at height systems. In the UK, in the 5-year period from 1996 to 2001, we have suffered 400 deaths and 28,000 major injuries as a result of falls from a height. Many of these accidents could have been avoided through awareness training and appropriate equipment selection. This course is the foundation for a 3-part scheme, the elements of which can either be taken separately or timed to run consecutively. Suitable for: This course is aimed at those who are new to industry or those whose employer may require them to occasionally work at height.

CONTENT: Access systems and the hierarchy of risk; Risk Assessment; Anchor point and rigging equipment; Fall arrest equipment; Work Positioning Equipment.

This course consists of lectures and practical demonstrations. Delegates will be assessed by means of a written paper. On successful completion the delegate will be issued with an NSL certificate of training.

his course is currently delivered at one of NSL's training centres, but can be delivered at the client's premises.

PPE REQUIRED: Coveralls, hard hat, safety boots and gloves.
