Course programme

Writing for Self Discovery

Please go to the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust website (look under WORKSHOPS) for a detailed description of the next course

These workshops have dual goals: the development of powerful writing and the acquisition and use of self-exploratory writing techniques. These are not conventional writing workshops and not conventional therapy; they are an exciting way of working with our self or selves - and with life experience, using and developing creative power while enhancing self-understanding

How do they work?

The workshops offer techniques and stimuli: the practice of writing gives a way of implementing these. Both create a container for self development. It's important to be open to experience - there may be unexpected outcomes … guidance is given on creating form (both in prose and poetry). Sharing is built in, as it enhances skills and self-understanding. The basic ground rule of confidentiality is observed, and participants do not HAVE to share, or share every time they write...

Skills and exercises will be gradually introduced, with guidance on reflection and creating form from raw ideas.
