This course is designed for wine and spirits employees, as well as for wine enthusiasts, who wish to increase their knowledge of wines and spirits. The main aim of the course is to focus on key grape varieties and main wine regions, and principle varieties of spirits.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?No previous experience of wine is necessary to enrol on this course.
What will I study ?You will be shown The WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine system. During the course you should build a strong tasting portfolio by sampling a number of wines and understand principles of food and wine pairing. Learn how wine is made and other factors influencing the style of wine. How food and wine is paired, the key white and black grape varieties. Learn about wine-producing regions of the world, different typres of wines (sparkling, sweet and fortified wines), spirits and liqueurs. Also find out how to decode the wine label.
What qualifications could I achieve ?WSET Level 2 Award in wines and Spirits (QCF) We are Wine and Spirit Education Trust Approved Programe Provider (APP) To gain the qualification students need to successfully pass a multiple-choice paper of 50 questions.
