Course Content: Modules include: Science: Study Skills Fundamentals of Psychology Fundamentals of Human Biology Essential Cell Biology Fundamentals of Chemistry Principles of Physics Science Research Methods and Data Handling How will I be assessed? While on the programme you will be assessed using a variety of methods: assignments, practical work, reports, group presentations, poster presentations and exams (practical and theory). All assessment methods have been designed to focus on skills specific to the industry while incorporating key transferable skills as well as placement learning. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You need a calculator and general stationery supplies. Although it is not a pre-requisite, it is helpful for students to have their own laptop/iPad to enable them to meet the required independent study demands. What can I do after this course? The course has been specifically designed to offer a pathway to a range of science degree courses at the University of Derby including Biology, Zoology, Forensic Science, Geography, Geology, Psychology and Biomedical Health. Upon successful completion of this programme, you will be guaranteed a place on a University of Derby science degree programme. You may also be able to gain entrance to science programmes at alternative higher education providers.
