The Yoga Academy offers Yoga Teacher Training Courses, Workshops and Advanced Study Courses with UK and International Teachers. Courses are for teachers, trainee teachers, students wishing to become teachers, or for those who wish to significantly deepen their knowledge, practice or teaching of Hatha and Classical Yoga, meditation and other specified forms of yoga.The Yoga Academy, established by Simon Low, is now one of the UK’s leading yoga teacher training schools attracting British & International students to its courses & hosting trainings & residential workshops with some of the world’s leading teachers of yoga, including: Donna Farhi, Julie Gudmestad, & Simon Low the Yoga Academy principal. Workshops with Simon Low are recognized as British Wheel of Yoga IST & CPD credits.

Andrea is a Yoga Academy graduate who runs The Yoga School in St. Leonards-on-Sea in East Sussex. Working alongside Simon during the teacher training intensives and supporting the students throughout the course offers Andrea a welcome opportunity to share her joy of the practice and her experience of having been a Yoga Academy student. In addition to the teacher training with Simon Low, Andrea has undergone extensive training with other internationally renowned teachers.

Anatomy & Physiology Tutor

Gary has trained in physical disciplines from an early age. He became a personal trainer in 1987, continuing to develop his fascination with Anatomy & Physiology & to study yoga for 12 years, as well as Shiatsu & Nutrition, Cranio Sacral Therapy & Structural Integration. He teaches Yoga & Living Anatomy & Physiology in Europe & the UK, to movement & manual practitioners in all bodywork disciplines.

Philosophy & Vedic Chanting

Gill has been a yoga teacher since 1974 and has taught, studied and practiced within the teaching approach of TKV Desikachar since 1976. She has studied Yoga therapy and Vedic chanting in India at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram and Vedavani Chanting Institute and continues her studies with TKV Desikachar both in India and the UK. She was Director of Viniyoga Britain from 1998 until 2002 and when Desikachar set up a new training organisation in 2006, The Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation, she was appointed as one of its first teacher trainers.

Simon Low is the Principal of The Yoga Academy & is a BWY honorary teacher & a registered teacher (E-RYT 500 level) with the Yoga Alliance. Simon has been teaching yoga internationally for over 18 years. Simon’s teaching reflects his training and ongoing studies with international teachers in many forms of Hatha and Classical yoga. After teaching in the UK for many years, he has concentrated on teacher training at The Yoga Academy, while continuing to run workshops & residential weekends in the UK alongside trainings & yoga holidays around the world.

Course Tutor & Kids Yoga/Chakras/Chanting

Simona’s professional background is in Psychology and she has also studied Classical ballet. Simona initially trained as a Sivananda Yoga teacher in 1998, however, her love of yoga drew her to other styles of yoga including Iyengar, Astanga Vinyasa, and Vinyasa Flow. Over the last 3 years Simona has been training as an Anusara teacher. Simona has been practicing yoga for 11 years and has been teaching yoga for 9 years and has continued her yoga training and teaching while living in Sydney and the UK.

Sue is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher, qualifying in 1993. Over the last 16 years she has studied with many inspirational teachers but has been influenced mainly by the rich teachings of her mentors: Simon Low, Francoise Freedman (Perinatal, Post Natal and Well Woman Yoga), Baron Baptiste and her primary teacher Gill Lloyd. She has recently completed a post graduate course in the Krishnamacharya tradition and is a certified teacher with the KHYF. Sue teaches weekly at Triyoga in Primrose Hill and at various venues in Surrey.
