Course programme

Most wildlife/animal artists like to try different mediums, myself included. One of the most popular mediums is, of course, acrylic. As with pastels, the choice of materials and surfaces is wide-ranging and sometimes confusing. Learn the techniques of creating finely detailed acrylic paintings in this workshop. Day one will focus on mixing colour to the correct consistency, masking off, underpainting and creating your background.

Day two will be spent on layering and refining the details of the subject, using ever smaller brushes, before adding those finishing touches, such as foreground, for added depth and realism. At the end of this weekend workshop, the whole process of painting wildlife in acrylic will be de-mystified. Just bring you and your lunch!

Medium: Acrylic
