What will I learn, objective

  • Identify Aesthetic parameters and relate these to treatment risk
  • Choose the appropriate implant and abutment for individual aesthetic restorations Discuss the biological basis for bone and aesthetic tissue response
  • Fabricate contoured provisional restorations and customised impression copings on implants at tissue or bone level
  • Describe aesthetic restorative options and discuss the influence of these on treatment outcome
  • Understand and be able to incorporate the newest CADCAM technologies into implant restorative treatments
  • More effectively incorporate aesthetic procedures into their dental implant practice

Course Outline

  • Emphasis will be placed on aesthetic diagnosis and the integration if biologic principles into planning and aesthetic risk assessment as well as team co-ordination throughout the implant restoration process
  • Planning for aesthetic success at the tissue level and bone level will be discussed
  • The use of cement and screw retained provisional restorations designed to support and contour soft tissue will be detailed
  • Customised impression procedures that transfer the emergence form developed by the provisional restoration to the master cast and dental technician will be described
  • Definitive abutment options will be identified and related directly to metal ceramic and all ceramic restorative choices
  • Current options in regards to CAD/CAM restorative materials will be covered
