Course programme

Death is an emotive subject. Most of us in our modern culture have little direct or personal experience of it. As a result, we can be ignorant and afraid of death and dying, rather than accepting it as part of our life experience, we can find ourselves running away.

Knowing what to expect can lessen the dread of what we may see and experience, and can help us to play a positive and compassionate role in how to support someone we love approach the end of their life.

This weekend offers a gentle space for relatives and friends of someone who is dying to reflect upon why we may be afraid of death, what dying people need, the best ways of being there for someone - spiritually and emotioanlly - who is dying, what happens as the person enters their final phase and how we can support ourselves.
