About this course
1. Must be 18 years of age or above and
2. Must possess 2 'A' levels and at least 4 GCSE 'O' levels or an equivalent qualification.
3. Mature students, above 21 years of age, may be accepted on to the course provided they can produce evidence of 2 years work experience.
Students not able to meet the minimum entry requirement will be placed on the three month Certificate in Business Administration course.

Introduction
Holders of the ABE Advanced Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality can gain direct entry in to the final year of the University of Gloucestershire’s BA (Hons) Tourism Industry Management or BA (Hons) Hospitality Industry Management Course conducted here at LSM – a Partner College of University of Gloucestershire.
Students successfully completing the Association of Business Executives (ABE), Advanced Diploma meet the entry requirement for direct entry to the final year of the degree course.
How Does It Work
Students who meet the minimum entry requirement are asked to become members of ABE so that they can take examinations. Students will be required to pass examinations in 14 papers leading to the award of an Advanced Diploma by ABE. All ABE advanced Diploma holders are eligible to proceed to the final year of the University of Gloucestershire BA (Hons) programme at LSM.
Course Content
The course is of a three year duration and commences every September and February
YEAR 1
Semester
1All four subjects must be passed.
- Organisational Behaviour
- Financial Accounting
- Economic Principles and their Application to Business
- Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
Semester 2
Three compulsory subjects:
- Human Resource Management
- Marketing Policy, Planning and Communication
- Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management
Plus two from the following options:
- Systems Analysis and Design
- Managerial Accounting
- Principles of Business Law
YEAR 2
Semester 3
Three compulsory subjects:
- International Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
- Tourism and the Environment
- Corporate Strategy and Planning
Semester 4
Choose two from the following options:
- Managing in Organisations
- Strategic Marketing Management
- Strategic Human Resource Management for Business Organisation
- Managing the Information Resource
YEAR 3 -BA (Hons) Tourism Industry Management or BA (Hons) Hospitality Industry Management
On completion of year 2, a student who successfully completes all 14 papers is awarded the Advanced Diploma by ABE. The ABE Advanced Diploma holders can proceed directly to the final year of the University of Gloucestershire’s BA (Hons) Tourism Industry Management.
