Year 1All students take the following modules, run in parallel, which provide the fundamental building blocks of biochemistry:
- Biological Chemistry
- Cell Biology
- Molecular Biology
- Proteins and Enzymes
In the second year you will take five core modules and select two optional modules.

The third year is spent either working in industry or completing a piece of research.
Year 4In the fourth year, students choose one module from each group below, in addition to completing Science Communication and either a laboratory-based research project or a literature-based dissertation.
The fourth year is the time for you to specialise, by selecting modules and a research topic that you are interested in and have relevance to your future career.
