About this course
On this course you study occupational therapy, personal and professional development, research and evidence based practice, the sciences, practice placement learning and interprofessional learning.
Four placements cover the areas of physical health, mental health, working in the community and in a non-traditional or extended scope setting. Examples include working in a community mental health team, a brain injury rehabilitation unit, social services, acute hospital ward, a children's service and a charity or voluntary service.All students on the course will undertake an extended scope placement which enables you to experience working outside the established role of an occupational therapist.
From A levels including at least 32 points from either a natural science subject (such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics) or social science (Psychology or Sociology), or equivalent BTEC National qualifications (including suitable natural or social science modules). We do not accept AS levels. We do not accept General Studies.BBC at A Level including relevant subject(s)DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma from a relevant subject(s)

Networking opportunities
Our student led subgroup of our local professional networks, SHOUT (Sheffield Hallam occupational therapy university team) organises monthly CPD events for clinicians, staff and students. It welcomes new students to the University and has an active presence on social media @SHOUTeventsWe have good links with our clinicians who provide practice placements and service users who are involved in our student events, such as open days. Specialist clinicians are also involved in teaching.
