This course has been designed specifically for occupational therapists working in either health, social care or education settings and is tailored to apply to those working with adults or children.

Course includes:

• Consideration of OT's responsibilities as specified in the organisation's Moving and Handling of People Policy and Practice Arrangements
• A review of the manual handling risk assessment process and the OT's role in this
• A review of relevant legislation and the implications of this and recent case law on the OT role.
• A review of the key principles for safer moving and handling and how employees are taught on foundation level courses to apply these to assisting service users to move
• Equipment update
• Complex risk assessment case study work
