BTEC Diploma in Sport Level 2

You will take part in a range of workshops, practical sessions, exercise studio classes and classroom based theory sessions. There will be opportunities to take part in the sports teams and activities that the college offers and potentially take additional qualifications such as the Sports Leader Award, Emergency First Aid, NCFE in Exercise Studies and FA level 1 Football Coaching.

You will cover the following units:

• Fitness testing and training,
• Practical sport,
• Injury in sport,
• Planning and leading sports activities,
• Nutrition for sports performance,
• Development of personal fitness,
• Effects of exercise on the body.

You will also be expected to work towards English and maths as part of your qualification.

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of four GCSEs grade D or above, including English language and maths at grade E or above, and preferably science and PE or a high level of participation in sporting activities, or
• a level 1 qualification at pass or merit grade, English at level 1 and maths at entry level 3, and
• a good interview and reference.
