Course Content: This course will develop the skills and knowledge desired by employers in the Public Services sector. It particularly reinforces teamwork, leadership skills and communication and provides excellent preparation for progression onto the National Diploma.
You will undertake six units of study, including; Uniformed Public Services Employment, Public Service Skills and Uniformed Public Service Fitness and Citizenship. Some units include a range of outdoor activities.
Special Features: All applicants must attend an interview followed by a pre-course assessment day. You will be required to purchase a uniform and pay for trips during the course.
Course Format: The course is taught on a workshop/classroom basis and outdoor activities. Emphasis will be put on a practical approach to the course wherever possible. As well as classroom based work, the course includes visits, guest speakers, team building, practical sessions, an expedition and outdoor activity residential.
Your work will be assessed continuously through a range of theory and practical based assessment activities.
Progression: By achieving a Merit in this course you may be able to progress onto the National Diploma in Public Services after a progression interview or apply for selection to the Public Services if you meet the age requirements and entry requirements.
