Course Content: The course content covers Introduction to Programming with C#.NET; Computer Architecture; Database Design/Access VBA Programming and Project Management. In addition, various subjects are studied to more depth in the second year and you may choose from a range of options that include VB.NET programming with ODBC database connectivity; Dreamweaver; ASP.NET; Javascript; SQL; DHTML; CSS; e-Commerce and Web Site Management.

Special Features: The course is available at the Ashton centre. All students will have access to Learning Box (Virtual Learning Environment) and unlimited support and advice from staff. The only assessment method used is course work based on practical assignments which require application of knowledge to practical case studies.

Course Format: A variety of teaching methods are used including lectures, practical demonstration, group work and personal research.

Progression: Career opportunities are varied and include computer programming, systems analysis and design and management. In addition to specialist careers there are a range of opportunities in business where an in depth knowledge of information systems is a great asset. You may also progress to undertake a degree in a related subject.
