About this course
For entry onto the course 4 GCSEs at grades D-F are required, also, students should have a basic level of education in literacy and numeracy to enable them to cope with the demands of the course. IT skills are not essential but you should have an interest in ICT. You must be prepared to work hard and meet all deadlines.

Course Content: This course is designed for students who wish to gain a hands-on appreciation of ICT. As part of your course you will also enter the Skills for Life programme. This will give you the opportunity to improve your Maths and English starting at a level that you feel comfortable with.
Special Features: All students will have access to up to date IT facilities as well as Learning Box (our Virtual Learning environment) and unlimited support and advice from staff. Classes are made up of individual and group work, practical demonstrations, visits and DVDs. You will be assessed by way of assignments given throughout the year some of which are set by Edexcel.
Course Format: A variety of teaching methods are used including individual and group work studying software applications, practical demonstrations, videos and visits.
Progression: Successful completion of the BTEC Intro Diploma would enable you to progress to the BTEC First ICT Practitioners
