Course suitability

Anyone who has an interest in pursuing a career in the Travel Industry, especially in areas such as Tour Operations, Hotels, Airlines and Travel Agencies.

Entry qualifications

4 GCSE's (Grades A to C or above), plus satisfactory interview and references

Course content

6 units - examples of which are:

Investigating Travel & Tourism, European Travel Market, Customer Service, UK as a destination, Retail & Business Travel Operations, The Business of Travel & Tourism

or 12 units over 2 years leading to National Certificate - 6 units will be chosen from the following:

Preparing for employment in the Travel & Tourism Industry, Long Haul Travel Destinations, Marketing, Investigating the Cruise Sector, Sustainable Tourism Development, Events Conferences & Exhibitions, Tour Operations, Passenger Transport Issues for The Travel & Toursim Industry

Additionality

There will be several trips as part of this course previous examples of which are:

Madame Tussauds, Luton Airport, Thorpe Park & London Dungeons, Brighton

There may also be an opportunity for students to attend a short haul residential trip eg: Barcelona, Lanzarote, Benidorm or Long Haul eg: Hong Kong, Shanghai
