HND Business and Finance Course Overview This HND in Business and Finance is ideal for students who already know that they are interested in Finance and wish to focus more attention on this area of Business. It could be that you are already working in a Finance or Accounting role and wish to progress in your career - or it could just be that you are interested in figures, money, accounts and have an analytical mind. Within the course you'll look at budgets, cost centres, taxation, transfer pricing and many other elements of Business and Finance.
This well-established national qualification places academic theory and learning within a practical vocational context.

What will I study? This course is designed to provide a comprehensive grounding in general Business Management and the opportunity to study a specialised area.
Through study you will gain an understanding of Markets, Customers and People and knowledge in the areas of Finance and Information Systems. You will learn about Communication and Information Technology, Business Policy and Strategy and Contemporary and Pervasive Issues.
Modules can include There are mandatory units in both years including Marketing, Managing Financial Resources, IT, Common Law, Small European Business, Organisational Behaviour, Business Strategy and Business Environment.

Course Requirements One A Level, Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), 40 points, excluding key skills Students with relevant experience will be subject to interview

Progression The HND is an integrated part of the BA (Hons) Business Studies degree programme. You can obtain the BA (Hons) Business degree in two further years of study, after completing your HND with four Merit grades. If you leave after the HND you would be looking for a job in junior or middle management and possibly looking to complete a professional qualification.
