Course programme
Course description: This course gives a broad introduction to the area of health and social care. You will study six units; three core units that everyone takes and three more specialist units which look at a particular area in more depth.
Entry requirements: Applicants should have three GCSEs at Grades A* - D or a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Health and Social Care or other suitable foundation course passed at merit level.
Objective: This is a practical, work-related course which will introduce you to the health and social care field. This exciting new programme is the equivalent of four GCSEs at Grades A-C and give you a good basis for moving on to a more advanced work-related qualification.
Assessment: Throughout the course, you will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
Academic progression: After successful completion of the course you may progress to a higher level qualification at College such as a level 3 qualification.
Career progression: After the course you could seek care-related work.
