What will I study?
This qualification will enable students to work on a range of practical and theoretical Hairdressing and Barbering skills plus real work activities.

How can I progress?
Students may progress to Level 2 Diploma (NVQ) or employment.

What will I need to qualify for this course?
Students qualifying for the course will have to attend a formal interview, paying particular attention to school reports and/or Record of Achievement (school leavers only). The course requires a degree of personal responsibility and autonomy and the ability to collaborate with others working as part of a team. Students are expected to provide a hairdressing kit & salon wear. A minimum of 90% attendance is essential to enable students to meet their targets which are set for each phase.

Course Structure
In order to gain a full Level 1 (NVQ) certificate, ALL MANDATORY Units must be completed; Mandatory; *Making sure that your own actions reduce risks to health and safety, *Contribute to the development of effective working relationships, *Shampoo and condition hair, *Prepare for hair services and maintain work areas. Optional; *Assist with salon reception duties, *Blow dry hair, *Assist with shaving services.
