The objective of the programme is to produce skilled postgraduates who can act in the increasingly wide research area of chemistry. The taught element encompasses subject specific critical evaluation of scientific literature, writing and presentational skills as well as project planning and advanced lab skills (60 credits). The research element (120 credits) will require students to undertake a major research project under direct supervision which will be written up as a thesis. This will open up postgraduate career opportunities in a broad range of employment areas in the chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. This programme can also be extended to MPhil or PhD studies.

About this course
1st class, 2(i) or higher undergraduate BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry or suitable related science degree
The minimum IELTS requirement is an average of 7.0 with a minimum of a 6.5 in the listening element, a 6.5 in the speaking element, a 7.0 in the writing element, and a 7.0 in the reading element.
