Course programme

Overview

This course is designed to give you an overview of the travel and tourism industry and is ideal for students who want to look at a range of potential future jobs. The range of units available to you allow you to explore the interesting world of travel, tourism and aviation and set your career in the right direction.

You will study the following units.

  • Travel and tourism industry,
  • Understanding and developing customer service skills
  • Nature and effect of world travel,
  • Marketing in travel and tourism,
  • European holiday destinations,
  • Preparation for employment in travel and tourism,
  • Holiday planning,
  • Exploring airports and airlines.

You will also study the following additional qualifications:

  • NCFE Level 2 Award in Resort Representation.

Alongside these programmes you will have a weekly tutorial with your course tutor who will work with you to ensure you are as successful as possible and track your progress.

This programme has a UK based residential planned. Previous students have been to the Lake District, Edinburgh, London and Blackpool. Trip fees are charged for the trips and visits. Financial support may be available from college depending on your personal circumstances - further information will be available at interview.


Entry Requirements

  • A minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English language, and maths grade E or above, or
  • a level 1 qualification at pass or merit grade, English at level 1 and maths at entry level 3, and
  • a good reference.
