This course includes six qualifications that must all be completed successfully to get a CBE Diploma: Principal learning (540 hours - 50% applied working on coursework and projects): Unit 1: Design the Built Environment: The Design Factors Unit 2: Design the Built Environment: Stages in the Design and Planning Processes Unit 3: Design the Built Environment: Physical and Environmental Influences Unit 4: Create the Built Environment: Health, Safety and Environmental Influences Unit 5: Create the Built Environment: Management Processes Unit 6: Value and Use of Built Environment: Adding Value to the Wider Community Unit 7: Value and Use of the Built Environment: Protecting and Maintaining Project: (120 hours) Independent study, research, activities, report writing, presentations. Progression
On successful completion of this programme you may consider progression to: professional and technician. If you achieve good grades (A* - C) on your Advanced Diploma you can progress to a full degree course. Progress to university on a full time degree course (Level 5) such as: BA Architecture BSc Architectural technology BSc Building surveying BSc Building BSc Construction BSc Construction management BSc Civil engineering BSc Environmental engineering BSc Facilities management BSc Estate agency BSc Housing BSc Landscape architecture BSc Quantity surveying BSc Land and engineering surveying BSc Project management BSc Structural engineering BSc Town and country planning BSc Urban and regional planning Or If you achieve lower grades (C - E) on your Advanced Diploma, then you can progress to a foundation degree course (Level 4) and then progress to a full degree. This is a longer route. Or Progress to employment and university on a part-time HNC course, one day per week: Higher National Certificate in Construction (Level 4) Higher National Certificate in Civil engineering (Level 4) Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering (Level 4) One of these may be followed with a part-time degree
