About the course Big Data is used by some of the world’s biggest organisations, and is defined by its size, complexity and the fact that regular data processing applications are unable to handle it. This course is one of the first in the UK to address the challenges it presents, and during your first year you will study topics that include statistics, software engineering and social media. The second year focuses on subjects such as the semantics of data and interoperability strategies, and during your final year you will link your knowledge to applications such as information visualisation.

We are looking for breadth and depth in your current studies and enthusiasm for the subject you wish to study. / entry UCAS Tariff Score of at least , which should include two A levels at C or above UCAS Tariff Score of at least from BTEC level 3 QCF Qualifications which should include a minimum of Merit Merit from either two BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas or from a BTEC Diploma or Merit Merit Pass in the BTEC Extended Diploma UCAS Tariff Score.
