Today digital camera technology is matured to the point where feature films are being made with this medium. The cinematographer is responsible for achieving the artistic and technical decisions needed to makes images for film that convey a story, its mood and its world. To do so, the cinematographer must master the use of light, cameras, grip equipment, the rules of composition and continuity as well as understanding the principal of storytelling, editing and film language.

Course programme
You will learn the theory and apply the principles through practical workshops and seminars.
The practical workshops will explore digital camera technology and help you get hands on experience with this new emerging medium.
We look at how cinematography is used for story telling, with the use of lenses, grip, lighting, camera and sound.
A strong emphasis will be given on narrative and the visual story of the film.
