At the end of this course delegates should be able to: Give an understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology of the ear and the need for preventative care, including patient education and advice Demonstrate the safe and proficient use of basic aural care instruments for the removal of wax, aural toilet and ear syringing
Reflect on accountability, documentation and the management of change in relation to ear care
Give a better understanding of people with hearing loss and to consider the patient holistically when providing ear care
Identify common minor ear abnormalities and ailments
Understand treatment of minor ear problems using best practice rationales
Correctly irrigate an ear for cerumen impaction and be aware of the complications
