Course programme
The purpose of this module is for you to demonstrate the competencies of a stage four teacher in order to obtain a recordable qualification of teaching with the Nursing Midwifery Council UK.
In 2008 The Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) updated the document Standards to support Learning and Assessment in Practice (SLAiP) where they outlined the requirements for nurses to support students at different levels of their education; Principle E (NMC 2008 p 16) states that 'Nurses and midwives who have completed an NMC approved teacher preparation course may record their qualification on the NMC register. Other teaching qualifications may be assessed against the NMC teacher outcomes through the NMC accreditation route.' This module is therefore designed for registered nurses who wish to seek the award of registered nurse tutor.
