Jo Bradley SrPara is a State Registered Paramedic with more than 10 years experience in resuscitation, both dealing directly with front-line emergencies in the pre-hospital setting and extending more recently in the primary care arena. Jo currently works as Lead Resuscitation Officer using her clinical knowledge and expertise to run a busy resuscitation service,. She has responsibility also for designing and implementing a clinical education programme and ensures the delivery of a wide range of training courses to accommodate the needs of multi-disciplinary service users. SME with Jo, is Bob Keane, a State Registered Paramedic having over 18 years of front line experience dealing with all types of medical emergencies, both as a crew member and by manning single crewed Fast Response vehicles. More recently as a Community Defibrillation Officer he was responsible for setting up Community First Responder teams and training lay people to respond to cardiac arrests and medical emergencies within their communities, including rolling out and co-ordination of the National Defibrillation Program across North and East Yorkshire. After a post at a Mental Health Trust training all staff grades Basic and Intermediate Life Support, he is currently Resuscitation Officer at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust in a busy department designing and implementing training packages for large numbers of multi-disciplinary staff groups across the Trust

How this course can help you: Basic life support skills can, in the case of an emergency, save lives. Designed to deliver the theoretical aspects of basic life support skills, including CPR so to help users to develop sufficient knowledge to be able to respond effectively and confidently in an emergency situation such as when a person is unconscious. The training is accessed on-line with realistic scenarios taking the learner carefully through the signs to look out for and the procedures to be followed. Because the course is interactive, learners will be able to test their progress, and receive, on completing the End-of Course Assessment, a Certificate.
